The teaching made up by BKS Iyengar is based on a deep practice of the postures, asanas, and on the yogic breathing, pranayama. 


The practice


The teaching is accurate and precise:


The practitioner learns to align the different parts of the body.

The organization of the postures is built up in a sequence that can be memorized by the practitioner.

The use of props, such as belts or blankets, helps to deepen the exploration of the postures.

The Iyengar yoga teachers are trained and certified on the same principles all around the world.


Today, the French Iyengar yoga association counts about 2200 practitioner and a hundred of certified teachers.
